Bebe and Cece Winans Release Reunion Album StillFirst Project From Brother Sister Gospel Duo In Fifteen YearsGospel fans are thrilled to see Gospel duet Bebe and Cece Winans together again. Their reunion album, Still, was released October 6, 2009. This is a great Christmas gift.
The great brother and sister Gospel duo from the 80's and 90's, BeBe and CeCe Winans, released their first album in more than 15 years this past October. This sibling team topped the R & B inspirational charts in 1987 with their debut single, I.O.U. Me. They also were honored as the second African American artists to ever receive the Dove award in the Group of the Year category. Lord Lift Us UpWhile the duo was still in high school, four of their elder brothers formed a gospel group of their own called The Winans. In the beginning, Bebe and Cece were first introduced to the world as The Winans Part II. BeBe and CeCe started performing publically in 1982 as part of the singing group, The PTL Singers, on a popular Christian television show during that time called Praise The Lord. Their first album Lord Lift Us Up was recorded by PTL Records. Bebe and Cece left the PTL singers in 1987 to pursue their musical career. Sparrow records offered the duo a Gospel recording contract. They released a self-titled debut album with Sparrow. This mainstream debut gave them their first R&B hit, I.O.U. Me. It not only topped R&B charts, but Christian music charts as well. They were nominated for several Grammys. CeCe won a Grammy for Best Soul Gospel Performance Female for her song For Always, also on the Bebe & Cece Winans album. Solo CareersSuccess continued for the gospel duo. In 1994, both Bebe and Cece agreed to split up and pursue solo careers after producing five albums together. Over the course of their careers, the duo has won numerous awards, including five Grammy Awards, eight Dove Awards, two NAACP Image Awards, one Soul Train Award and over a dozen Stellar Awards. To their credit, they have had 12 chart topping R&B singles, as well as numerous No. 1 singles on the Christian charts throughout the years. Together as a duo, they had three gold albums and one platinum album. The Reunion TourThe new 11-track project, Still, first announced to fans earlier this year, includes songs featuring their brother, Marvin Winans, and gospel duo Mary Mary. Bebe and Cece express their love for God with a soulful gospel blend that combines the sounds of R & B, pop, soul, jazz into one unique album. It 's good to hear the duo back together again. Fans need to be watchful. Bebe and Cece will be doing a Reunion Tour later this year.
